Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question? You're probably not the first to ask. Here are answers to the most common things people wonder about.

πŸ’‘ Can't find your answer here? Check the guide for your role β€” Member, Ticket Manager, Treasurer, Admin, or Super Admin β€” for detailed walkthroughs.

For Members

How do I log in?

Billettsalg uses magic links, so you don't need a password. Enter your email on the login page, check your inbox for the link, and click it. You can also enter the 6-digit code from the email instead. Links expire after 30 minutes, so use the newest email promptly.

How do I order tickets?

Go to Order Tickets in the sidebar, pick your event and showtime, choose ticket types and quantities, then select Continue to review and add to cart. Review the summary, add the tickets, and choose whether to open the cart or add more tickets. You can add tickets from multiple events before submitting everything at once.

πŸ“Œ See the Member Guide β†’ Ordering Tickets for the full step-by-step.

What do the order statuses mean?

StatusWhat it means
⏳ PendingYour order is submitted and waiting for approval
βœ… ApprovedConfirmed! Your tickets will be available for pickup
πŸ“¦ DeliveredYou've received your physical tickets β€” time to sell!
❌ CancelledThe order was cancelled (check your notification for the reason)

Can I cancel my order?

Yes β€” as long as it's still Pending. Go to My Orders, find the order, and tap Cancel. Once an order is approved or delivered, you'll need to contact your ticket manager for changes.

Why does it say "Sales are locked"?

Your organization admin has temporarily paused ticket sales for that event β€” usually while they review orders or prepare tickets. This is normally brief. Check back later or ask your organization admin when sales will reopen.

First, check your spam/junk folder. If it's not there, make sure you're using the same email address your organization admin registered you with. Still nothing? Ask your admin to confirm your email in the members list.

Links and codes expire after 30 minutes and work once. If a new link shows an invalid or expired message, return to the sign-in page, request one new email, and use the newest link or code. Don't send the full link or code to support.

On iPhone and iPad, installed apps (PWAs) can't intercept links from other apps. When you tap the magic link in your email, iOS opens it in Safari. To log into your installed app, use the 6-digit code from the email instead β€” just type it into the login screen.

Can I order tickets from my phone?

Absolutely! Billettsalg is designed to work great on mobile. You can even install it as an app on your home screen for quick access.

Where is "My History"? I can't find it anymore.

We renamed it to My Orders and split it into four tabs to make each order's current state clear:

  • Active: your pending and approved orders
  • Delivered: orders where you have received the tickets, including orders awaiting manager reconciliation
  • Settled: orders where a manager has approved the final sold and returned quantities
  • Cancelled: orders that were cancelled

You'll find it in the same place in the sidebar. It's just called My Orders now.

πŸ“Œ See the Member Guide β†’ Your Orders for details.

For Ticket Managers

How do I approve orders?

Go to Orders in the Management section of the sidebar. The Pending tab shows all orders waiting for review. Tap an order to open the action sheet, then tap Approve. You'll see a capacity summary to help you decide.

πŸ“Œ See the Ticket Manager Guide β†’ Reviewing a Pending Order for details.

What are sales quotas?

Sales quotas let you limit how many tickets each member can order for a specific event. Enable them in the event settings when tickets are limited and you want fair distribution among members. Once enabled, you can set individual quotas from the event's management dashboard by clicking "Manage Quotas".

πŸ“Œ See the Ticket Manager Guide β†’ Ticket Sales Quotas for details.

How do I enable sales quotas for an event?

Go to Management β†’ Events, open the event, toggle "Enable sales quotas" on, and save. A "Manage Quotas" button will appear on the event dashboard where you can set per-member limits.

Can I transfer an order to a different member?

Yes! Open the order's action sheet and tap Transfer. You can do a full transfer (all tickets) or a partial transfer (just some ticket types). The system splits the order automatically.

How do I find one member's active orders?

Open Orders, then use Search by member name on the Pending, Approved, Delivered, or Awaiting Reconciliation tab. The search matches part of the name and works together with the event filter. Clear the search to restore the full queue. Settled, Cancelled, and Archived tabs aren't filtered by member-name search.

For Treasurers

How do I export a report?

Go to Reports in the Management section, select the tab you want (Members, Events, etc.), then click Export. Choose from Transactions, Members, Showtimes, or Orders. Files are CSV format and open cleanly in Excel.

Do fees show separately in reports?

Yes β€” reports break out ticket revenue and fees into separate columns, making it straightforward to track fee income for accounting.

How do I mark a member as invoiced?

In the Members tab of Reports, click a member's name to see their sales detail. Then click Mark as Invoiced. This records that the member-and-event invoice was issued or sent. It does not record payment.

For Admins

How do I create a new event?

Go to Events in the Management section and click Create Event. Fill in the name, date, location, and venue capacity. Add at least one ticket type with a price. Add showtimes if the event has multiple performances. The form uses collapsible sections so you can focus on one step at a time.

πŸ“Œ See the Admin Guide β†’ Creating a New Event for the full walkthrough.

What's the difference between locking sales and deactivating an event?

  • Locking sales (πŸ”’) keeps the event visible to members but hides the order form β€” existing orders are not affected. Great for temporary pauses.
  • Deactivating removes the event from the member view entirely.

How do fees work?

Fees are added on top of the ticket price. If a ticket costs 250 kr with a 25 kr fee, the buyer pays 275 kr total. Fees appear as separate columns in reports, so you can track them independently.

Can I undo a deletion?

Yes β€” events are soft-deleted, not permanently removed. Scroll to the bottom of the Events page to find the "Deleted Events" section, and click Restore to bring an event back.

For Super Admins

How do I set up a new organization?

  1. Go to Super Admin β†’ Organizations and create the organization
  2. Go to Super Admin β†’ All Users and assign members to it
  3. Promote one user to Admin within that organization
  4. The new admin can then create events and invite members

πŸ“Œ See the Super Admin Guide for details on organization and user management.

What is impersonation?

Impersonation lets you see the app exactly as another user sees it β€” their events, orders, and permissions. It's view-only and fully audited. Use it to troubleshoot when a member reports a problem.

General

I see "New version available" β€” what do I do?

Just tap the Update button! The app checks for new versions automatically in the background. When an update is ready, a small notification appears at the bottom of your screen. Tapping Update refreshes the app with the latest changes β€” it only takes a second.

If you're using the app on an iPhone and the update button doesn't seem to respond, don't worry β€” the app will force a page reload after a moment to make sure you get the new version.

What browsers does Billettsalg support?

Billettsalg works in all modern browsers β€” Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best experience, keep your browser up to date.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Billettsalg runs on Azure with encrypted data storage. Magic link authentication means there are no passwords to steal. All impersonation sessions are logged and audited.

Can I use the app in Norwegian?

Yes! The app is fully available in both English and Norwegian (Norsk). Switch languages from the navigation bar β€” everything updates instantly.
